Member of the General Service Division, Ariastuty Sirait directly reviewed the readiness of the Batam Center Hajj Dormitory ahead of the departure of prospective pilgrims 1446 H/2025 M, on Monday (28/4/2025) afternoon.
This review aims to ensure that all facilities and services are ready to support the smooth process of Hajj embarkation, which is a collaboration between BP Batam and the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs.
During the review, Ariastuty was accompanied by Operations and Maintenance Manager of BP Batam Facilities and Environment Business Entity, Evi Elfiana Bangun, who reviewed a number of important points such as the room area, dining room, X-ray room, departure area, clinic, and others.
“The readiness of infrastructure and services at the Hajj Dormitory is very important to ensure that pilgrims can depart calmly, healthily, and safely. We want to make sure everything runs according to the standards set,” Ariastuty said in her statement.
Batam Center Hajj Dormitory is the main embarkation for pilgrims from three provinces, namely, Riau Province, Riau Islands, and West Kalimantan with a total of 8,930 people.
Meanwhile, 2,910 pilgrims from Jambi Province will use the Hajj Dormitory as a transit location, before departing to Saudi Arabia in stages (kloter) through Batam Embarkation.
The embarkation process itself will take place from May 1 to July 31, 2025.
Ariastuty further detailed, the number of beds in the Batam Center Hajj Dormitory that are ready to be used for prospective pilgrims is 776 units per day, and will be used during the embarkation period.
“We ensure that all pilgrims, both those from overnight and transit embarkation areas, will get the best service,” Ariastuty said.
BP Batam is also committed to providing full support, including through cross-agency coordination, securing departure routes, and elderly and special needs pilgrims.
“We hope that the implementation of this year’s Hajj pilgrimage will run smoothly and the pilgrims can perform their worship solemnly,” Ariastuty concluded. (RUD)
