In order to realize an environmentally friendly investment zone, BP Batam built a testing laboratory in 2009 accredited by the National Accreditation Committee (KAN) with No. LP-746-IDN, located in State Polytechnic of Batam.
The set up of this laboratory is based on European Union policy related to the Restriction of The Use of Certain Hazardous Substance (RoHS) towards the usage of 6 hazardous materials and the implementation of Indonesian National Standard (SNI) for Children Toys.
In addition to contaminant scrap test and RoHS test toward electronic components and support items, BP Batam Testing Laboratory provides liquid and solid industrial waste test services.
Test to industries is carried out by BP Batam Testing Laboratory to meet regulation requirements, so laboratory service users in Batam no longer send samples to laboratories out of Batam.

BP Batam Testing Laboratory has been equipped with well calibrated chemical instruments and possesses a team of trained analysts to conduct basic or chemical instrumented analysis.
The chemical instruments are EDX 8000 X-Ray, Hydride Vapor Generator (HVG-I), Atomic Absorbtion Spectrophotometer (AAS), UV-Vis Spectrophotometer, Forier Transform Infrared (FTIR), Microwave Digestion, ICP OES Optima 8300, Flow Injection Mercury System (FIMS), Polymer Grinding, and others.
